A fantastic antique Westcountry watercolour by renowned artist Thomas Mortimer. Mortimer was known for his coastal and moorland scenes. He was painting at the end of the 19th century and the early 20th Century. This is one of his later works and is dated 1916. It is a moorland scene probably of Dartmoor with the tors in the background and heather and gorse in the foreground. The gilt painted frame really shows the painting off wonderfully. A fabulous painting, full of moody atmosphere. Perfect to add soul and character to any modern interior.
Condition
Scratches to gilt frame. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
