A fantastic original watercolour. It is a fabulous West Country Coastal Scene and is signed by the artist H W Hicks. Herbert William Hicks was a British Impressionist and Modern painter born in 1880 and died in 1944. He was born in Exeter, Devon and was part of a group of Dartmoor Artists inspired by F.J Widgery. He painted in watercolour and Gouache west country scenes of Dartmoor and coastal scenes. Framed in a beautiful antique gesso gilt frame with a classic acanthus moulding. It has a new mount and backing board by a professional framer.  It is a beautiful calm sea and surrounding landscape. Perfect to incorporate into a modern interior to add soul and character to a space.
Condition
Cracking to gesso in places and some losses to frame. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
