A fantastic antique advertising tin. With original paper label for 'Smiths Potato Crisps'. The company was founded by Frank Smith and Jim Viney in 1920, after World War One. Potato crisps were originally sold with a twist of salt in greaseproof paper bagsand sold around London. This large example was used in a grocery shop for display and use. Its an early and rare example dating from the 1920's to 1930's. The label is distressed and very timeworn, but it only adds to its charm. These large tins are great for display and to use in modern kitchens, pantries or laundery rooms. Adding soul and character to any modern space.
Condition
Much of the original label is worn and missing. Tarnishing to metal tin. Lid has J & Co stamped to the top. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
