A fantastic antique Colonial day bed by Leveson and Sons. Bears ivorine label for Leveson and sons New Oxford Street and Knightsbridge, London. They were founded in the early 19th Century and specialised in well made furniture with mechanical elements including invalid and campaign furniture, reading tables and chairs.

This daybed or bench dates from circa 1890. With a slatted bed and adjustable backrest above four turned legs united by stretchers. It is of super quality with fantastic attention to detail. The wood is weathered, but appears to be mahogany. It has a wonderful worn look. The bench would make a fantastic sun lounger or, with the  backrest down, a perfect long bench. A fabulous rare period piece, perfect to add soul and character to any modern space.

Condition

Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.

Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
