A fantastic antique silver plate food dome. This cloche has a wonderful tarnished patina and has only been given a light clean. It would have been used in a grand country house on the dining table to cover food.

Fully hallmarked by the maker, 'Atkins Brothers of Sheffield'. The famous firm of cutlers and silversmiths traces its business in Sheffield to around 1750. The company became Atkins Brothers between 1853 and 1925. They were base at Truro works, Matilda Street, Sheffield.

This fabulous food or meat dome is a real nod to Downton Abbey and perfect for any celebration table. We have seen them upcycled to kitchen downlights to a add a quirky touch to a modern interior.

Condition

Cracks to handle. Tarnishing and dents to surface. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.

Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
