A fantastic antique desk. Made from steamed beech wood bent to create the stretcher. It doesn't have a makers name but probably made in Vienna, Austria by one of the renowned makers of the time, such as Thonet, Mundas or Kohn. We love all antique bentwood furniture and have written a blog all about its history. The crackle of the aged varnish is just wonderful and has taken over 100 years to create. There is a filing section to the right and appears to be a drawer missing to the bottom. It is a great size and has a fabulous period look. Perfect to incorporate into a modern home to use and enjoy.
Condition
Drawer missing to bottom of filing section. Area of damage to surface of desk, please refer to photo. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
