A fantastic antique oilette picture. It depicts a fishing boat landing its catch, with workers and customers collecting their fish in baskets. This is an oilette painted and was produced by Raphael Tuck and Sons. The business was stated in 1866 in Bishopsgate, London. This fabulous example dates from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century and is an oilette print postcard. The gilt gesso plaster frame is deep and has a wonderful timeworn patina. There is an original retailer label to the back for Vi-Toneon Musical Co, 43 Grays Inn Road, London. A decorative interior piece perfect to stage as a gallery wall or to add soul and character to a modern interior.
Condition
Losses to gesso plaster in places. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
