A fantastic antique pair of trays. Made from silver plate mounted on brass. They are both fully hallmarked with the makers name, 'Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company, 112 Regents Street West'. Founded in 1880 by William Gibson and John Lawrence Langman. The company exhibitied at many national and international exhibition, including Indian and Colonial in London 1886, Paris 1889, Chicago 1893 and California 1894. This pair of large trays have a lovely scalloped edge. They are stamped 'Silver Soldered' and '9817'. Both have quite deep scratch marks to the surface, where it looks like they have been used as carving platters. To the back areas of sliver plate have worn throught to show the base metal which is brass. A lovely pair of period trays perfect to stage with candles or foliage. Addind soul and character to any modern interior.
Condition
Deep scratches and marks to surface of trays. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
