A lovely antique dish. Made from silver plate and stamped to the bottom with the hallmark for James Dixon & Sons. The business was established in 1806, in Silver Street, Sheffield. They began to make electroplate in 1848 and exhibitied at the Great Exhibition in 1851. It also has some initials stamped to the underneath rim which we assume were the previous owners.Dating from the Victorian period this elegant piece has a simple classic design. A fabulous period piece, perfect to adorn any celebration table to use and enjoy.
Condition
Some surface tarnishing. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
