A lovely pair of antique brass jugs. Both are stamped with the Neptune hallmark for Joseph Sankey and Sons. Sankey was based in Bilston, Wolverhampton, part of the black country, near Birmingham. Sankey started the firm in 1890, his sons joined him in 1891. We believe these jugs date from the early part of the 19th century. There is the number '2' to the base which is for 1 pint. The jugs have a wonderful hue and patina to the brass. The repousse detail to the body is all hand beaten and have a lovely reptile or snakeskin design. Perfect as a gift or would make a wonderful addition to any modern interior to use and enjoy.

Condition

They are handmade and one has two rivets to the handle the other one. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.

Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
