A lovely antique copper tray. Made from copper and marked for Joseph Sankey and Sons. Sankey was based in Bilston, Wolverhampton, part of the black country, near Birmingham. Sankey started the firm in 1890, his sons joined him in 1891. We believe the tray to date from the early part of the 19th century. The tray have a wonderful warm hue and patina to the copper. The hand etched design is just wonderful and typical of the Arts and Crafts period. It would look stunning styled on a table with candles and keepsakes. A perfect gift or would make a wonderful addition to any modern interior to use and enjoy.
Condition
Mishapen to edge. Tarnishing in places. Marks to surface. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
