A rare antique letterpress printers cabinet. With brass plaque to front for Miller and Richard of Edinburgh and London. The type foundry operated in Edinburgh from 1809 to 1952. Established by William Miller. Richard, his son in-law was admitted as a partner in 1832. Several of the drawers are stamped 'Miller & Richard' and are original to the cabinet. 
Made from stained pine with panelled sides. With 14 letterpress trays which would of held wooden and metal type. We have cleaned each tray but there is still signs of ink. The trays have different compartment configurations and the remains of content labels. Inside to the back is a label for 'Adams & Sons Printers'. They were established in 1888 and based in Dover.
This stunning rare cabinet is perfect for any collector to store and display collections. A fabulous salvaged piece which has been used for many years in a factory and now can be incorporated into a modern space. Adding soul and character to an interior.
Condition
The trays are a mixture and probably from different cabinets. Splashes of paint. Piece of wood missing to back. This is a salvaged piece and has been used for many years in a factory environment. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
