A fantastic and rare set of four bentwood dining chairs. Made by Fischel, this bears the makers label with Niemes, Boheme. Which was part of the former Czechoslavakia. Fischel started to make bentwood furniture in Niemes in 1871 and had close ties to the Thonet furniture company whos patents expired at that time.

These stunning and rare chairs probably date from the start of the 20th century. This design is rarely seen and even more so as a complete set of four chairs. The back rest and seat are embossed with striking classical patterns including cherubs to the seat and mythical figures. A stunning set of period chairs which are perfect for any modern home to add soul and character to an interior.

Condition

In good sound condition with some repairs including a replacement bolt and some replacement screws. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
