A fantastic antique repousse basket. Made from English silver plate and fully stamped by the maker, Richard Richardson. The business was established in 1796 in Sheffield. He was active at Cornwall works, Pond Hill (1873-1883), then 167 Norfolk St (1884-1890), and Scoland St (1891-1925). This fabulous example has a repousse flower and swag design to the base. With hinged handle, this basket was probably used for fruit or sweets. Dating from the Victorian period. A fabulous period piece, perfect for display or to use and enjoy.
Condition
We have only given it a light clean and shows tarnishing especially to base due to age. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
Please look at photos closely as they form part of the item description.
