A antique letterpress printers cabinet. With stamp for Stephenson Blake Company Ltd, to one of the drawers. Stephenson Blake were maker of printing machinery and originally founded in 1819, in Sheffield. The company became Stephenson Blake and Co in 1879, when take over by Henry Stephenson and William Greaves Blake.
This cabinet dates from the end of the 19th Century. Made from stained pine, each drawer has differnt sized compartments. With three letterpress trays which would of held wooden and metal type. We have cleaned each tray but there is still signs of ink. It has the remains of its old varnish and wonderful vintage industrial look.
This stunning rare cabinet is perfect for any collector to store and display collections. A fabulous salvaged piece which has been used for many years in a factory and now can be incorporated into a modern space. Adding soul and character.
Condition
This is a salvaged piece and has been used for many years in a factory environment. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
