Here for sale is a fantastic reclaimed pavement light well presented as a table. The pavement light has the marks for Young and Marten of London. William Young established his company in 1872 in Stratford and by the turn of the century Young and Marten Ltd were manufacturing a wide range of exterior and interior fitments including pavement lights.
This pavement light dates from around 1900. It was salvaged from a street in Torquay in the "English Riviera" which went through rapid development during the early 19th Century through to the Victorian period including the building of many villas during these periods. The light is made from heavy cast iron frame and individual glass boxes. We are presenting this pavement light as the top of a table by combining with a heavy cast iron base. A fabulous rare reclaimed table, perfect for outdoor entertaining and a real talking point. This table should withstand any storm!
Condition
Lots of signs of its use in the pavement with missing glass with concrete filling. Extremely heavy, its not going to blow over in the garden! Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
