A fantastic set of three Vintage boxes. All three are made from papier mache and have a wonderful oriental design. The smallest ebonised box has two slots to the top for coins. The largest example shows its age and its original retailers label to base. Gamages was a department store in Holborn and traded between 1878 to 1972. probably made in China as export pieces. These lacquered boxes have a lovely timeworn patina. The hand painted scenes are stunning with birds and flowers. A fabulous set of three boxes, perfect for display or to use and enjoy.
