A fantastic antique framed anatomical print. This original human biology plate have been salvaged from 'Johnston's Students' Atlas of Bones and Ligaments' book. Dating from 1885 the book was very distressed. We have mounted the plate and its additional text into an original museum specimen frame. These frames would have been part of a large bank of drawers with metal number to top and double sided glass. These original Victorian lithographic plates were developed to help students with medical studies. Artist were used to accurately record each area of the body. The plate of the human bones of the femur is part of a collection we have. They are perfect to incorporate into a modern interior to add soul and character.
