A fantastic antique print. The original art was painted by William Gunning King, born in South Kensington on 2nd September 1859. He studied art at South Kensington and the Royal Academy Schools where he received a silver medal for his drawing. He also exhibited at the leading London Galleries from 1878, chiefly at the R.A. Gunning King spent his final years in the West Sussex village of South Harting where he painted up until his death at the age of 81.
The print is hand tinted and has a domed glass cover and dates from the Victorian period . The stunning carved gesso gilt frame has several losses but is still a lovely piece. A lovely decorative piece perfect to add soul and character to any modern interior.
Condition
The frame has a large piece missing and losses to the gesso moulding. Shows signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior.
